Tomato mummification: What happened next?

This morning, Team Amin opened up their boxes to see what happened to their mummified tomatoes!

After over 70 days of mummification, the time taken for the Ancient Egyptian embalming process as well, Team Amin opened their boxes up today to look at their tomatoes! They were much more shrivelled and smaller and when we weighed our tomatoes, we discovered that they weighed much less too. In some cases, our tomatoes weighed over 20g less than their pre-mummification weight which was shocking! We now know, however, that this is because the salt (our natron) absorbed all of the water from the tomato. How interesting!
