World At War

To kickstart the term, year 6 created beautiful 'art to start' pieces for display in our classroom. The children had a choice between using silhouettes to create an eerie depiction of the Blitz, a frightful time during World War II in which London was heavily bombed, or soldier portraits, capturing their fear and courage. The children used a range of equipment to create their pieces of work such as chalk, pastilles, tissue paper, collaging and charcoal.
