Nature prints

This week at Forest School we had a go at Hapa zome, a Japanese printmaking technique that uses the natural colours and shapes to make prints on cloth. We used found leaves and flowers and composed them on a table then layed a piece of cloth over the top. Using a glove on one hand to hold it in place our other hand bashed the leaves or petals using a hammer or mallet to create a natural print. Lots of us enjoyed turning these into flags by attaching them to a stick.
